The Future of LED, as well as ASSAN is bright.

It was the year 1962 when the LED has started to glow in a glass tube stepping out of research laboratories. Following next decade, only few people were aware of the red LED which had been used for specific applications. The first 5mm. red LED was a real innovation which has been manufactured and introduced to the market by Siemens Semiconductor Division ( currently Osram Optosemiconductor). This non-heating, matt red glowing plastic cylinder has evolved tremendously. During time, yellow, green, blue and white colored ones were introduced to the market with increased efficiency and higher intensity. Shortly, LED’s have gained a very wide area in daily usage in almost every electronic device such as traffic lights, indicators, digital clocks, scoreboards, information and price boards. Starting with the new century LED’s became the rising star of lighting industry.

Unlike the all other lighting devices, LEDs convert the electron movement directly to photon which results in benefits such as very high efficiency, mechanical consistency, smaller size, less heat, less voltage and current requirement, no radiation and magnetic field emission, very long life expectancy, very fast response time, no toxic or carcinogenic ingredients ( except GaAs, AlGaAs, GaAsP LEDs), etc,.

To produce light out of an LED device is very simple. Today, it is possible to manufacture a low cost LED lamp by connecting a couple of LEDs together with a proper resistor in series. That’s why there are many similar products at the market. However, also utilizing low cost components to those kinds of applications completely annihilates major advantages of LED’s like high efficiency, low heat propagation, and longevity.  Unfortunately, this is not the way to reduce investment costs, which is the major disadvantage of LED technology.

To utilize the LED and offer its capabilities in the real sense is a field of artwork and expertise. This expertise is exactly what ASSAN has.

We were established as a small company in 1980 to design and manufacture industrial electronic devices. Since 1990 we have added LED panels, outdoor digital clocks, LED based interior decoration for TV shows, LED information and score boards to our product range. Starting from 2002 we have reconstructed our future by fully concentrating on LEDs and started to produce LED based illumination products while opting out from industrial electronics market. 

The SMD and Radial production lines in our factory utilize lead-free manufacturing technology. All components used in our production are religiously selected among worldwide known and accepted, quality approved brands. We not only continuously keep on investing and researching on LED technology, but also collaborate with R&D engineers of manufacturers for excellence in quality.  We always pay utmost attention to evaluate environmental friendly and secure products for mankind. Presently, we have more than 400 different LED based products in our portfolio. We have always supported every single product left our factory. That’s why we became a reliable Solution Provider for many exceptional companies not only in Turkey, but also in the world.
